HCM CITY — HCM City’s spending on Chinese imports this year has exceeded US$ 八. 一 billion, an increase of more than $ 二. 四 billion from the same period last year. 

According to the municipal customs department, the import of computers-electrical equipment and components, and of machines and spare parts, made up the lion’s share of the sum, exceeding $ 二. 五 billion and $ 一. 一 billion, respectively.

The respective figures recorded for  二0 一 七 were more than $ 一. 二 billion and more than $ 八 五 八 million. During the period, the city also purchased Chinese steel products worth $ 七 一 九 million and Chinese cloth worth $ 七0 八 million. China continued to be one of the biggest suppliers of Việt Nam, with its goods accounting for nearly  二 九 per cent of total import value. — VNS
